Golden Artist Colors Announces Internal Promotion for New Supervisor of Planning and Scheduling

Golden Artist Colors announces the recent promotion of Arlan Purdy to Supervisor of Planning and Scheduling. Purdy, who was formerly the Senior Operations Planner, has been with the company since 2019 and is currently serving as the Chair of the ESOP Committee.  

As the Planning and Scheduling Supervisor, Purdy will be instrumental in coordinating the demand requirements of the market with available resources and communicating these plans with Production Schedulers.  Holding certifications in both Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) and Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution (CLTD), Purdy will also develop and revise the long-term plan to balance machine and labor resources to ensure accurate recommendations for level-loading when and where demand is greater than the resources available.  His effective communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and knowledge of the market are critical to the continued success of the company.

Nathan Watkajtys, Supply Chain Manager, shared that, “Arlan Purdy has recently been promoted to Planning / Scheduling Supervisor.  He will maintain the long-term planning of finished goods, but will now also support our Operations Scheduling Team.  He has worked with this department for many years, so it was a natural fit and a great growth opportunity at GOLDEN.” 

Prior to joining GOLDEN, Purdy gained experience at various manufacturing companies throughout the Southern Tier.  As a Customer Service Manager at EMT Metals, LLC, he developed new reporting tools to provide faster and more accurate insights, and investigated and resolved approximately $80,000 in past-due accounts receivables.  

Purdy holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Information Technology Management from SUNY Utica, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature and Rhetoric from Binghamton University.  He currently resides in Oxford, N.Y.
